Our top priority is ensuring every cat in our program lives a full, enriched life as a beloved companion, not confined or isolated. Our Guardian Program allows each cat to experience the daily love of a home environment, while still playing an important role in the future of the Siberian breed.
A guardian home is a special partnership where a breeding-quality cat or kitten is placed with a local family who cares for her as their personal pet, while also supporting our program. Guardians do purchase their cat at pet price, as this is your forever pet. The compensation you receive over time is designed to help offset that cost while also recognizing the time and care involved in raising a litter of kittens.
Guardian families and Lil’ Star Siberians work closely together to ensure each cat’s physical, emotional, and social needs are fully supported. We stay in regular contact to guide you through each stage and make sure everything feels smooth, supported, and aligned.
If you live within 30 minutes of St. George, Utah, love Siberian cats, and feel called to be part of something meaningful, this may be a beautiful fit for your family.
Guardians provide the daily love and home environment that allows each cat to truly thrive.
Responsibilities include:
• Providing a stable, loving indoor home
• Covering standard pet expenses (food, grooming, routine vet care, toys, etc.)
• Following a similar diet approach (details provided)
• Keeping the cat indoors (or in a secure catio/supervised setting)
• Maintaining open, timely communication (typically within 12–24 hours)
• Notifying us of heat cycles so we can plan breedings
• Providing weekly photos or videos of kittens once they arrive
• Allowing scheduled visits and coordinating breeding times
While guardians provide the home environment, Lil’ Star Siberians manages the full breeding program behind the scenes.
This includes:
• Investing in high-quality bloodlines and breeding rights
• Genetic testing and health screening
• Carefully planning all pairings for health, temperament, and lineage
• Covering breeding-related veterinary care, pregnancy, and kitten care
• Managing all applications, communication, and kitten placements
• Maintaining the website, marketing, and ongoing demand
• Providing guidance and support throughout pregnancy and kitten raising
Breeding is not simply about having kittens, it is a long-term commitment that requires planning, experience, financial investment, and responsibility for every life produced.
This program is designed as a shared partnership, where both roles are essential, but different.
As a guardian, you provide the daily love, care, and nurturing environment that allows each kitten to be raised in a home setting. This is incredibly valuable and deeply appreciated.
At the same time, there is a significant amount of work and investment happening behind the scenes to make this program possible.
This includes the ongoing care and management of breeding cats, including our males (studs), who require fully separate, enriched living spaces to ensure their well-being and prevent stress or accidental breedings. These spaces are carefully created and maintained to ensure comfort, safety, and proper management within the program, requiring ongoing time, planning, and financial investment.
Because of this structure, compensation is thoughtfully designed to reflect both the hands on care provided by guardians and the long term responsibility and investment required to sustain the program.
Our goal is to create a system where:
• No one is overwhelmed
• Every cat receives individualized care
• And the program remains sustainable and ethical long term
This structure allows us to maintain a high level of care, demand, and placement for our kittens, which is what makes the program successful and sustainable.
Guardians are compensated per litter based on the number of healthy kittens born.
For example:
• 3 kittens → $2,700
• 4 kittens → $3,500
• 5 kittens → $4,000
• 6 kittens → $4,500
This compensation:
• Recognizes the time and care involved in raising a litter
• Helps offset the cost of your breeding-quality cat
• Creates a mutually beneficial partnership
To support you, I provide essential supplies to help you feel prepared and confident.
These include:
Birthing & Nesting Supplies
• Queening box
• Waterproof pads
• Heating pad
Kitten Care Supplies
• Digital scale
• Formula (KMR or Breeder’s Edge)
• Bottles and syringes
• Supplements (calcium, colostrum)
• Bulb syringe
These supplies are provided to ensure you’re fully prepared, though many are simply precautionary and not needed in every litter.
Starter Pack
• ~20 lbs raw food
• Kitten-safe litter
• Small litter box
Non-consumable items remain property of Lil’ Star Siberians and are returned after the program.
Consumables (food, litter, etc.) are provided initially to help you get started, and guardians can expect to continue supplying these as part of normal pet care as kittens grow.
Becoming a guardian allows you to experience the magic of raising kittens, without the full responsibility of running a breeding program.
This is ideal for families who:
• Want a high-quality, health-tested Siberian as a pet
• Love the idea of raising kittens
• Value communication and structure
• Want to be part of something meaningful
If this feels aligned, I’d love to connect with you.
