Meet Ember's Family
We’re so grateful to have Josy and her sweet family as part of our guardian program. They are an outdoorsy crew who value time spent together, whether that’s hiking, camping, swimming, or enjoying family trips to the beach.
Josy has an impressive background in running, having completed six marathons along with several other races. Recently, she’s shifted into a new season, trading long distance running for strength training alongside her husband Todd. In addition to staying active, they love cooking as a family, and she especially enjoys baking delicious homemade treats.
Creativity is also a big part of Josy’s life, as she works as a freelance graphic designer and loves bringing ideas to life on the computer.
As her boys have grown older, and with Kade recently graduating and stepping into his next chapter, Josy felt a natural opening to welcome Ember into their home and pour her time and energy into her. One of the things that especially drew her to the guardian program was the opportunity to raise Ember’s final litter, a meaningful experience she deeply values.
Ember has been a perfect fit, bringing her playful and loving personality into their family with ease. We feel so lucky to have her in such a loving, intentional home.
Honey's New Family
Lucie and her family recently joined our guardianship program, welcoming Honey into their home just a couple of months ago. They moved to Utah five years ago, drawn by their love for skiing and the outdoors. Life is full and active with their two young boys, who are adventurous, curious, and passionate about hockey.
Both Lucie and her husband, Jay, work from home. Lucie teaches Pilates, and Jay manages data operations and business intelligence, allowing them to spend plenty of quality time together as a family.
Lucie shared a little about their journey:
“I had wanted to welcome an animal into our home for a long time, but with two young boys, I didn’t feel I had the extra energy for a dog. When I discovered Siberian cats and learned more about Honey, I immediately felt like it would be the best fit for our family. My husband is allergic to cats, but when we welcomed Honey into our home, he had no reaction at all.
I’ve become fascinated with learning all things cats. We live a very healthy lifestyle with a big emphasis on nutrition, and I strive to extend that same care to Honey. I really enjoy making her food with love and intention.
We’re looking forward to welcoming our first litter with Honey soon, and I can’t wait for our boys to experience raising kittens.”
Nate and Kamie both work from home as marketing and design professionals, which allows them to spend plenty of time with the cats throughout the day. Their home is filled with activity, laughter, and the energy of their three children, ages 16, 19, and 23, who all still live at home.
The family loves the natural beauty of southern Utah and enjoys experiencing all four seasons in Cedar City. In the winter, they take advantage of nearby mountains for skiing and snowboarding, and when summer arrives, Kamie especially loves heading out on road trips and camping adventures around Utah’s incredible landscapes. The family also enjoys traveling whenever they get the chance, especially to favorite beach destinations like California, Hawaii, and Mexico.
Nate is an avid road and gravel cyclist and often rides more than 100 miles per week during the summer months.
The family shares a love of art, music, and meditation, and Nate and Kamie often play crystal sound bowls during quiet moments. Interestingly, the cats seem to love the calming sounds just as much as the humans do.
Star and Mochi thrive in this peaceful, loving environment where they receive constant attention, affection, and companionship.
Tiffany is one of our guardian mamas, and someone I’ve had the joy of getting to know through this journey. We first connected when she adopted Roo, our gorgeous flame point boy from our beloved (and now retired) stud, Boots. Through that process, we discovered a shared passion for cats, and over time, we’ve become good friends.
She lives here in St. George with her two children, and they’ve lovingly welcomed our beautiful queen Reese into their home. Roo and Reese are now the sweetest little duo, growing up side-by-side and filling their space with so much joy.
What really stood out to me about Tiffany is how naturally aligned she is with our values, especially when it comes to holistic care and feeding a species appropriate, high-quality diet. She’s truly committed to giving her cats the best start in life, and her heart for them shines in everything she does.
Our guardian program was created for families just like hers, people who offer not just a roof and routine, but real connection, consistency, and love. And in return, they get to be part of the sacred process of birth and kittenhood. It’s such a gift, and I feel so grateful that Reese and Roo are in such thoughtful, nurturing hands, and I love that I get to work with people I trust, who share in the heart of this work. It feels like a true partnership, and I’m so grateful for it.
We’re really happy to have Tiffany and her family as part of the Lil’ Star family.
Morgan and her husband Caleb live in Draper, Utah, with their adorable little boy, Marshall, and their beautiful Siberian girl Sache. Their home is full of love, and a little bit of adventure!
Caleb is an extreme marathon runner, and together they share a love for the outdoors and traveling the world. They are both major cat lovers and were really excited to welcome Sache's first litter (sired by Teddy) of kittens on January 8, which happens to be Morgan's birthday too!
We couldn’t be more excited to have Morgan and Caleb in our Guardian Program, giving these kittens a happy, nurturing start in life.
